God Calls and Equips Leaders

God Calls and Equips Leaders

When God calls His leaders into combat, He equips them with all the weapons needed. When God's people departed for the journey of the conquest of the promised land, God ordered two trumpets be made that, when played, would serve as his command to his people. "When you go out to fight in your land against the oppressors who oppress you, you will also blow the trumpets to shout, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies." Numbers 10:9

God knew Moses would never be an invincible leader without the divine trumpet. Without it, there would be no victory, no joy. The sound of trumpets served as a summons to the people and princes. In addition to summoning, they also helped to attack enemies at the right time and for moments of praise to God, manifesting joy.

For Joshua, the trumpet of God was the Book of the Law. "Do not cease to speak of this Book of the Law; rather, meditate on it day and night, that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; then you will make your way prosperous, and you will have success." Joshua 1:8

And today, what trumpet does God use to guide His leaders? Today we are equipped with the Sword of the Lord, His Word. "For the word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrews 4:12.

With this Sword, we will lead because, in it, we have all the guidance to be successful, just as it was with Moses and Joshua.
